Equal Opportunity & Nondiscrimination Training

Equal opportunity and nondiscrimination courses are available for faculty and staff. Some classes are designed specifically for Hiring Committee Members, recruiters, or managers. Topics covered in these courses may include federal and state equal employment laws and various nondiscrimination policies that govern the UCR employment process (recruitment, selection, termination, promotion, etc.).

Current EOAA Training

Current Equal Opportunity Training offerings include:

  • Search Advisory and Hiring Committee Best Practices - designed for both academic and staff recruitment; available via UC Learning Center.
  • Promoting Faculty Diversity Workshop - required for academic search committee members; managed by Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Currently under review
  • Role of the Compliance Liaison (CL) on the Search Committees - designed for both academic and staff recruitments. This JOB AID is required for review by a search committee member designated as CL.
How to Enroll in EOAA Training
  1. Go to the UC Learning Center (LMS)
  2. Login using your UCR NetID and password
  3. Search for the desired course using the Search box and additional filters

Customized Training

The Office of Civil Rights is available to:

  • Create or adapt training programs to departmental/college training needs on topics such as Equal Employment and nondisrimination.
  • Present at your staff meetings or other assemblies.
